I have not done this conversion but Super used to be really good to convert most formats to most other formats with lots of options, perhaps too many if you didn't understand them or were prepared to do a few runs with different settings and compare the result.

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

However in freeware form it is now loaded with AD-ware.

So unless you have a spare PC you can image, load this and do the job then put the image over to get back to before Super was installed perhaps best avoided.

WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe

looks a possibility. From what I have quickly read it seems flexible and good results but not the fastest. If I needed to do this conversion I would try it.

I Found a licensed package I had and it does it fine. Thought takes many hours for a 2gb file. No video or sound lost.
The quicker the program (say 30 mins) is the more loss you get I found.

WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe is shit. Cant convert anything with that. Every format come up with an error.

I'm pleased you found a solution that eventually gives a good result.

Often for processing time and quality becomes a trade off.

As to WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe I just looked fairly quickly at a few web pages and it looked a better option than other possibilities. Should I need to do this conversion sometime I know not to bother with this and try another.

Try here. It?s free. Only downside is it converts files that are in Dropbox or Googledrive or online somewhere and saves them in the same place. Perfect if you have a big Dropbox account.
