I dont often get to see historic gigs ( filming the Everley Bros reunion at the RAH in 1983 might be the last one I was at) but I went to see Dave Davies playing last night in Islington. Superb concert perfectly topped off by Ray joining him on stage for You Really Got Me. They've not played together for 20 years. What chance a Kinks reunion?
Off to see Van Morrison play at Nells, a 300 capacity venue in W London now. Not expecting history to be made but you never know.

Re: The Kinks
I'm impressed that Ray and Dave dueted on stage, I was always under the impression they hated each other and had no association at all. I remember Ray saying once that the band last performed in 2005, like you've said, and he said that if that was the final ever Kinks gig then so be it. A friend of mine attended the annual Kinks convention at the Boston Arms, Tuffnel Park, north London, a month or two ago. He said one or two of the original members played as part of a tribute band and that (I think he said) one of the Davies brother appeared briefly on stage. Most of the day was geared towards meeting other Kinks fans, buying memorabilia, etc. Would be great if the Kinks returned, but I doubt all original four members will participate. Maybe three of them. By the way, I would recommend Dave Davies' book "Kink" if you've not read it.

Re: The Kinks
From recent utterances by both Ray and Dave it would appear that a reunion is not totally out of the question. If it happens then great, if not then I was at least at the gig where they sang together however briefly.
Im not generally a fan of juke-box musicals, but I did rather enjoy 'Sunny Afternoon' in the West End recently. And both Ray and Dave had input apparently.
