I remember reading earlier this year that about half the Premier League teams charge the parents of kids that are used as mascots going out with the team at kick-off.
Want your kid to walk out with West Ham? That will be ?600. Every little bit helps! Unbelievable.
New Premier League Deal....
Re: And another thing...
When I was a kid we had a thing called a Junior Gunners membership. It cost ?5 for the season. This allowed you go get in the ground for a ?1. You used to get a newsletter every quarter, birthday and xmas cards, a signed photo of your favourite player, plus a few other bits and bobs. Also they used to randomly select a Junior gunner to be a mascot for free!

Blimey, I thought we were about the same age. You must be 20 years if not more older than me. Funny how the tiniest of things cheer me up.

Essex Lad
Yes, of course I have had a sheltered life which has resulted in my having little or no knowledge of everyday life as you spotted.
I was a monk in one of the closed orders for about 40 years which helped to keep me young. Had to leave though when I developed an allergy to incense.

No.
I was found to be spending too much time reading the rubbish on here. That and the incense allergy of course.

Well, I suppose at your vast age there's not much else left for you. Reading The People's Friend and putting your teeth in Steradent are probably the highlights of your day ? that and waiting for Countdown to come on.
