Watched this film on the iplayer a couple of days ago.
It is basically a stunning documentary about how the West and Saudi Arabia colluded together to allow the spread of Wahhabism, a 7th century interpretation of Islam that has much in common with the views of ISIS to survive and spread. The Saudis got the West's help to modernise the state's infrastructure and the West got petrodollars.
It also shows how the Blair/Bush approach of the just war in which good fought evil in Afghanistan and Iraq was hopelessly simplistic and doomed to failure. The way the film destroys the well intentioned British approach to Helmand in Afghanistan is devastating.
Although irritating in some ways as it jumps around to different topics, the film is visually extraordinary, fascinating in its use of archive footage and gripping.
The film has got rave reviews from both the Guardian and Peter Hitchens in the Daily Mail. Recommended for all gimps, fuckwits, lefty loonies, right wing fascists and anyone in between.
It is on the iplayer for the next 3 weeks. A work of genius!! Give it a go, watch it!

Bump
In the light of the horrific, barbaric burning alive of a Jordanian pilot by ISIS - an Inquisition-like event in the 21st Century, all the more important to understand how we got here.

Argie
A typical, adolescent, attention-seeking remark from you. Truly pathetic.
