Well first of all, this is about Scotland's independence not the SNP's policies. The SNPs have widely tried to confuse the one with the other. Who knows? Labour might be in control again in the next Scottish parliament election.

Secondly it is worth pointing out that a devolved Scottish parliament has much more power than it has used. For example, the Scottish government can adjust income tax by 3p above or below the income tax rate set in the remainder of the UK.

Has Salmond used this in the interests of "social justice"? No he has not. And the reason for this is that Salmond and the SNP have always followed the policy of taking the plaudits for anything positive, but blaming Westminster for anything negative.

Social justice cannot ignore certain realities like which currency do we use and what are the costs of using one currency as opposed to the other; what are the implications of being in or out of the EU etc. etc.

ON these manners when clhallenged on their views on currency union and membership of the EU, the SNP have responded with a mix of lies, insults and deliberate misrepresentation. Just like a typical Westminster party really........

Talking of social justice, is this the same Alex Salmond that approved Donald Trump's golf complex plan over the heads of local planners and against local opinion, riding roughshod over the concerns about a site of special scientific interest?

The same Alex Salmond who has been able to introduce income tax rates changes + or - 3p for years but has done nothing, preferring to blame Westminster for everything that goes wrong? Mind he has no problem sticking in a cut in corporation tax in the Independence White Paper to reduce corporates (like Donald Trump) tax bill.

The same Alex Salmond who has announced huge changes to child care in Scotland as part of the Independence White paper but has done nothing with regard to the powers he already has to introduce these changes?

Never mind what all the Westminster political parties and the people of the remainder of the UK think about having a currency union with Scotland where we are the lender of last resort having to bail out the Scottish based banks if they go kaput again. That really does sound fantastic for all the rest of the British people. Is this the same Alex Salmond who believes that this is all bluff?

So when you say you agree "exactly" with Gentleman's statement above and then state "I am not voting for or against Alex Salmond or the SNP. I am voting for Scotland" then who are you hoping is "going to build a society based on social justice"?

He is politically a dead man walking. He reminds me of the classic David Steele quote to the Liberals..."go home and prepare for government!!!!!". Dangerous and deluded. Was talking to a couple of mates, one who has recently bought a house in the Scottish side of Gretna. Surprisingly the locals are mad with Rob Roy and Braveheart bullshit and anti English hatred. The other lives in Edinburgh where he works for an international military contractor..who are looking at moving their office to Manchester if there is a yes vote...his employer is a major employer and pays very good salaries so that will cost McSalmond a few mill straight away. What is gobsmacking is the refusal by the SNP to provide the Scottish electorate with any Plan B.

When George Osborne, Ed Balls, Danny Alexander, Carwyn Jones state there will be no currency union with the UK, they are bluffing according to Salmond.

Why the fuck would the British people want a currency union with an independent country when they have already seen what happens in other currency unions such as the euro?

So what's your plan B, Alex? Err.

There was a discussion between various international lawyers and Scottish Members of Parliament on the issue of an independent Scotland being part of the EU. And you can see the "Oh fuck" reaction of the SNP MSPs when 3 out of the 4 lawyers explain why an independent Scotland would have to apply to join the EU as a new nation state and they would need to take the euro.

Like a drowning man clutching at straws, Salmond holds on to the views of the fourth lawyer, a guy called Professor David Edwards who thinks there may be a quicker way round this in which Scotland does not have to reapply but also states that it will take well over the timescale of 18 months that Salmond says that it will take.

So what's your plan B Alex? Err, err.

Plan B? Isn't he a singer? Seriously Salmond has some deluded idea that everyone in Scotland, be they Labour, SNP, Conservative (all 3 of them) etc are mad keen to jump into the void. I am wondering when he will start rolling out Sean "I have not lived in Scotland for nigh on 50 years" Connery to spout some bollocks?
Now imagine if they do vote yes....and in the first elections Labour win and oust McSalmond.....what then for him and his adoring legions of sporran wearers?
