Without wishing to be rude, I think your na?vet? is staggering. No, I don't think he was a mass murderer but he did belong to a terrorist organisation, which makes him a terrorist.
A question for you: what do all the following have in common?
Menachem Begin
Moshe Dayan
Jomo Kenyatta
Archbishop Makarios
Martin McGuinness
Yitzhak Rabin
Bobby Sands
Ariel Sharon
Mass Murderer Funeral live on BBC

What a pathetic person you look to be.
Now, I'm off for a wee holiday in the sun tomorrow morning, a little reward for working hard all year. You should try it sometime.
It would be nice if I could have the answer when I get back in 10 days time.......yeah right!!

Without checking all of the aboves bios on wikipedia, I must confess I don't know. At a guess - were they all convicted in a court of law for carrying out terrorist acts?

Re: AM
They were all terrorists who went on to become elected politicians/statesmen. My point is that Mandela is not the first nor last terrorist who will attain elective office. Every government says: "We will never talk to terrorists." And we always, always, always do and always will...

But were they all found guilty of acts of terror in a court of law?

Well, I suppose it's good to see you have such good faith in the judicial systems that convicted all of the above, but so little faith in the electorate who subsequently voted all of the above into office.
