Our MP's are underpaid .. Says so ...

There should be some sort of Halls of Residence for MPs to set up an office and living accommodation for MPs who live outside London. As for travel.....tough. I've just doubled their wages and lots of people commute in and out of London everyday at their own expense.

Ah yes, an entertaining argument. You say to a group of 650 workers who currently get ?65K a year approx. we only need say, 300 of you.

We will pay you average wage +10% i.e. about ?28K. This is not a pay cut in case any of you think that.

Over to you, to explain how this is not a pay cut.

Yes lots of people commute in and out of London everyday at their own expense ? me for one. But I go in from Essex not from the Outer Hebrides.

How many MPs from north of Watford would either attend the Commons or visit their constituency regularly if they had to pay ?200+ a time for travel?

Because the regional manager of Tescos or Carphone Warehouse are more socially beneficial than MPs.

And MPs are not spokesmen for tens of thousands ? most of them are not even elected by a majority of their constituency and many of those who not share the views of the MP anyway...

It is not a pay cut in the same way that Gordon Brown spoke of Tory cuts (I think that was the word he used) and Labour investment...

At the last General Election the electorate (who turned out) decided that it wanted none of the main parties in power. Yet we have all of the excesses of Tory greed and malice.

In the scandalously mal-conducted PCC elections only 12% turned out. Any democratic system with any integrity would have declared the result void and either binned the policy or started again. Instead in most areas a body of 20 representatives were replaced by one with 20x the power!

This so called democracy is dysfunctional and it is the political classes who are responsible for the dysfunction. Election campaigns are a monstrous deception with all parties lying through their teeth to get their grubby hands on the power in order to bend the Law the State and the Economy in their favour.

A pay rise??!! They should be put to the F***ing guillotine!!

I've just nearly doubled their wages with my idea, which more than compensates for the travel. Yes, some will have to pay more in travel than others but that's the same for many jobs.......and the further out of London the cheaper the way of living (not by much these days but still) which goes partly towards compensating for the extra travel costs.

Not really ? how many of your colleagues commute 200-300 miles each day?
