Why do we need over 600 MPs in the House of Commons and over 850 Lords in the House of Lords? That's getting on for around 1,500 of the bastards.
You compare that with other countries and it's ridiculous.
Poland 600 for a population about 60% of the UK.
India 800 for a population 20 times bigger.
US 600 for a population 5 times bigger.
France 900 for a similar size population.
There's lots more example.
If ever there was an institution due some down-sizing it's the Houses of Parliament.
