"Semantics".

Is that the new tabloid word for being wrong?

"They say they pay thousands and I provided a link to that
> statement. WHy should I believe you instead?

Er because I work in the industry and spent three years working on The Sun."

This is the interweb for all I know you could be a female welder from Skegness. You have provided absolutely no evidence to back up any statement you make.

" asked for proof that these "substantial" (or large) sums are STILL BEING paid and you have singularly failed to provide any".

I have provided evidence of substantial sums being paid last year. You have provided no evidence about anything. I await your proof. As you know it is only very rarely that the payment amounts actually come out, usually via litigation.

"I know better than you on this because it is the industry in which I have earned my living for the last 17 years. It's like going to a professional in some field and then saying why do you know better?"

Except your statement may be true. It may not be true. I provide a link to evidence from litigation that "substantial sums were paid last year in a case.

No, look it up if you don't know what it means. There are a number of dictionaries online.

And you have provided no evidence that The Sun does pay "thousands".

The Ferdinand story was published in 2010 which is not last year. And in any case (for at least the third time) I have asked you to show me evidence of a kiss and tell published since Lord Leveson began sitting.

Furthermore, you can't say that I as a tabloid journalist should know certain things (as you have in the past) and then when I tell you refuse to believe me.

Kiss, tell, get paid 2012

Post by David Johnson »

"There are, obviously, cases where some stories go for huge
> sums of money "

Don't they tell you the difference between the present and past tenses in tabloid journalism.

Okay, so your main argument appears that kiss and tell just doesn't happen "any more because newspapers are terrified after the closure of NOTW and ongoing Leveson inquiry. SOme of your statements

"Every single newspaper is terrified of the Leveson report so we are being good until its contents are released."

"I said that newspapers are terrified of the Leveson Inquiry - how many kiss'n'tells have been published since Cameron ordered the inquiry?"

So here ya go from the Press Gazette

http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/node/49917

I draw your attention to the followng paragraphs from this article dated 28th August 2012.

"Celebrities, sports stars and other high-profile public figures are now increasingly at risk of being exposed in tabloid kiss and tells after last week's Sun victory against ex-England manager Steve McClaren, according to some of the UK's leading media lawyers."

"Caroline Kean, partner and head of litigation for the law firm Wiggins, said that after a spate of so-called super-injunctions in early 2011, the last year had 'been good from the point of view of the press".

"Does the McClaren judgment mean the return of the ?Kiss and Tell'?. In my view 'Kiss and Tell' has never really left, it is just been packaged differently."

And here's the link to the story in the SUn

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/ne ... ns-ex.html

Apparently Saima Ansari has history in shagging Ericsson. What a girl!

I am sure all forumites believe yours story that in return for the front page splash, pictures of Saima with or without McClaren and her thoughts on the affair, got Saima the princely sum of about ?25 and a kebab.

Me, I am not convinced.

This is my last post on the subject before you start posting "You havent shown me the invoice" "WHen I said now, you have to show me that it happened in the last week and not light years away in August"

For this topic, goodbye!!!

If and I use the word if these allegations are true countless people are accessories to abuse. In my line of work we have strict confidentiality rules EXCEPT where a child may be at risk. You are duty and morally bound to inform the Police, your managers and Social Services..

God Almighty, it sounds like something from Hammer House of Horror, this weeks episode, "BURY HIM DEEP, FOR HE LIVES!"

......A crazed top DJ pervert discovers the secret of eternal life and goes on a spree of groping and leering after girls! Finally he is trapped by Dr Van Helsing who manages to use a girl to lure the sex mad DJ in to a tomb made of solid reinforced concrete. The DJ falls for the cunning plan and is deftly locked inside and the 30 ton sarcophagus is lowered in a pit 200ft deep and covered in rubble!

Little does the good doctor realise that the DJ has developed the power of astral projection and can now pass easily through rock and simply possess another DJ or rock star's sleeping body. On waking, the possessed celeb roams the night clubs of London seeking new prey to feed on, only returning to his concrete tomb by sunrise for rest!

Jimmy Saville in his concrete sarcophagus?
