bbc coverage of the olympics

Absolutely superb. The bbc has its knockers but thank god this is one event sky don't have their greasy hands on.

Agreed. Brilliant coverage by our national broadcaster that is the envy of the vast majority of countries in the world.

It would be a travesty if any political party in this country tried to undermine it by taking away the TV licence system.

I hope that they leave coverage up on the Iplayer for a long time and/or provide a DVD boxed set. I for one, would like to relive many of the moments, particularly in the rowing, cycling and athletics.

Yes but still manipulative. Have you seen the billboards boasting you can watch all the BBC coverage on Sky?

I kind of agree, although I do think it is at times way to biased to GB stuff although understandable I suppose. The best thing of all though of course is NO FUCKING adverts !

I reckon Murdoch's plan to get rid of the BBC is well and truly scuppered since the Leveson enquiry. If you have ever looked at any of his newspapers over the last 15 years there has been a continuous sniping of the BBC, whether it is executives' pay, an over spend on something or other, there was always a Sun reporter on hand to splash it all over the newspaper.

Can you imagine how SHITE television would be with out the BBC, can you imagine television in the hands of Murdoch? Wall to wall Z list celebrity shite and all news controlled and edited by him!

It would be a nightmare.

What is with the BBC's 'PC' pink chin microphones for the pinkies and darker ones for the darker commentators? Or are they invisible in HD or 3D?

Apparently the pink one denotes "gay" which is why Claire Balding has one.

They weren't keen on typecasting.

Besides the BBC had run out of pink ones.

I love Claire Balding, top lass, I reckon she would make a good politician, but she's too bright.
