Can love conquer all?

Post by number 6 »

Yes imo. When you meet the true love of your life everything else pales into insignificence. Anyone else agree? I know this is a porn site but what are the forumites views on good old fashioned love and romance?

If you got sex on the brain 24 hrs a day or as they call it the media you're a "sex addict" then the only cure is marriage it may take a year or so but you will be cured at some point and also it will sort any of those nice feelings of love and romance out!

"When you meet the true love of your life everything else pales into insignificence."

Yes, that's what Ingrid Bergman said to me when I was having a double whisky in Rick's bar.

Then I woke up alas.

On a more serious note, you are right.

"Since love grows within you, so beauty grows. For love is the beauty of the soul." St. Augustine

Or for those forumites who prefer it in the original Latin

"Quantum in te crescit amor, tantum crescit pulchritudo; quia ipsa charitas est animae pulchritudo,"

I think some of the great classical composers used to express "Love" through their music. Men and women must have been exploding with emotion that couldn't be freely expresssed due to the rigid protocols of the day. This piece by Handel the great British composer who lived between 1685 and 1759 MUST have been written when his heart was torn to bits! The piece expresses sadness, longing and joy all at the same time, but who knows which? I like to think he was nuts about some tasty bird he'd seen at one of his concerts and she't given him the brush off so he rushed home to write this so he could declare his love to her and she'd be so touched that she'd run off with him!

Handel - Concerto for Oboe in G minor, No.3 HWV 287, 3rd part - Sarabande. Largo

And within this piece by Max Bruch (1838-1920)there is a whole tumultuous relationship buried within, love, sadness, passion, the whole lot. Violin at its most heart breaking:

Bruch violin concerto No 1
