Not quite - any more than the Sunday People is the Sunday Daily Mirror, It is just owned by the same company. The NotW began in 1843, The Sun in 1964 and Murdoch bought it in 1969, the year he also bought the News of the World.

Don't see why not - they advertise in the daily edition.

It doesn't matter when they both started, they ended up the same. Same shit reporting, same shit reporters, same shit news for the same shitheads who bought them.

I know advertisers still advertise in the Daily editions of the Sun, but it was advertisers withdrawing from the News of the World that really killed it.

With the SoS being a direct replacement for the News of the Screws it will be interesting to see whether advertisers distaste will extend for the re-badged paper.

Pedantic - being born in scotland makes you a scot in title - if you lived in england all your days then you would be as english as england could be. Like wise with the NoTW it was in the same building as the sun run off the same machines and written by the very same folks so it is in effect the same paper with just a different name.....

No, the News of the World wasn't "written by the very same folks" as The Sun. They had different staffs.

Yes it was but The Sun on Sunday is not the New of the World. It's not a rebadged paper. It's a seventh daily edition of The Sun and edited by Dominic Mohan, the editor of The Sun.

No, they didn't have the same reporters. The only very small crossover would have been an occasional sub-editor from The Sun who supplemented his income by doing a Saturday shift on the New of the World.

Yes they will have to go back to proper journalism - developing contacts, meeting people rather than hacking their phones...
