UK rubbish collection

Post by frankthring »

I am appalled and sorry to read that less than half of councils in the UK
now collect rubbish only every fortnight instead of weekly. Some rural
communities are now going to be asked to transport their trash to a
communal site ! I see several MPs intend to fight this lack of essential
services......If living in Britain you may like to know that poor little Hungary
has rubbish collection two or three times a week in its rural areas and
daily within Budapest (much to dear old Jim Slip`s annoyance at 6am). If
Hungary can look after its citizens in this way I see no excuse for the UK
in not doing the same !

I'm guessing this change won't result in a corresponding reduction in rates/council tax?

I suppose the shortfall of final salary pensions for the diversity awareness project managers has to come from somewhere.

No doubt the council will be exempt from their own rules, too. I've had major 'discussions' regarding their interpretation of the rules and there implementation on their own property.

We have need of you again, great king.

Yes Frank, like Peter says, someone has to pay for all the council fat cat's final salary pension schemes, set up by you guessed it, New Labour! Not to mention all the "One legged feminist lesbian hopscotch collective anti-men puppet workshops" they set up all over the UK, during the last days of their junta. Now with Tory cuts we'll be lucky if we don't have to gift wrap our own rubbish and take it to the tip ourselves! !wink!

Oh come now Jim, its not all just New Labour. The tories are equally as bad. I'm in favour of capitalism and loo at the way its stil going now.

All that bleating about cleaning up alfter the mess labour has done is just an excuse to show their own inefficiecy to get this country back on its feet. The proof is in the news every day.

One only has to look at the banks. The rcession. The bonuses still being paid out. The cash awarded to getting involved with the war then hearing about cutbacks t hear mor emoney is being pumped into other areas. T efact this country is privatising its business intersts off shore because it is cheaper so what do we do with a work force out of jobs and no new jobs coming in because the brits are too expensive?

All Tories my man. As long as there getting their pay cheques and bonuses who gives a shit?

The more disocntented people and poverty that contiunes to exist we can expect more oipportunists at riots kicking off at some point. One only has to look at the motely crew of those convicted to see that it wasnt one particular stereotype wearing hoodies

On holiday in Portugal and Cyprus I discovered that there were daily collections of rubbish. All you had to do was take your crap to a communal bin on the road near to you and voila! the bin men came and emptied the bin every day. If less developed countries than ours can achieve this I have to ask, why the fuck can't we? Unfortunately I come to the conclusion that it is the fucking Councils, run by Council Officers, not Councillors, who say what is what. The bastards are looking after their fucking pension pot is what.
Personally I'd line the fucking lot up and shoot the bastards and get people in to run the boroughs as they should under orders from their political masters who were elected in to the office.
Fucking Council Officers, shitheads, the fucking lot of em.

Tweet from our TORY council last Friday after asking why 45 staff had only issued 95 Fixed Penalty Notices in a year:

"Issuing FPNs is just one of many duties they perform. Staff work to educate residents rather than striving to merely issue FPNs"

With regards to bins:

Bin collections here are fortnightly with the TORY council 'educating residents' to what can be put in their bins.

Education AT COST equates to leaflet drops, flyers and posters and hotline number

The same TORY council has spent money on a number of bin types.

First 3 for recycling were that small they created overspill and were scrapped.

Waste of money spent by THE TORIES

They then introduced at yet more cost food collection bins which again were to small - another waste of money TORY spending

Given the council tax I pay I expect the local council to come into my home and empty my bin and put a new bag in it.

That aside I thought this was going to be about Frank banging on about a box set of amateur porn coming on DVD but little did I know he actually meant real rubbish !happy!

Phew!

As one councillor pointed out on the news, they're only legally obliged to dispose of your waste, they have no duty to collect it from you.

So you see, you really should be paying more, you've had a freebie upto now!
