Best DVD burning software???
Can anyone recommend the best DVD burning software...I want to burn WindowsMediaVideos from my PC to DVD..have tried Nero & realplayer but they're fairly unreliable..any advice would be much appreciated.

Deepburner is Good
Re: Best DVD burning software???
First are you using a laptop since they are far less reliable at burning for 3 reasons.
1. they have much less power available so the laser beam is weaker
2. the slimline drives are inherently more flimsy
3. the drives getting knocked about so go out of alignment
I use Nero and consider it very reliable.
I only use XP not Vista or Win 7 and Nero 6, 6.6.018 I think to be precise as ( some? ) later versions are not compatible with DVD Shrink.
I never burn at full speed but normally 4x occasionally 8x if in a rush.
I have always used Pioneer DVD writer drives.
At work we have had trouble with both Sony & LG drives, the Samsung and NEC ones are relatively less troublesome.
98% of my failures have been down to the media, the 2% a general computer glitch or maybe specifically caused by Nero.
While relatively expensive genuine Verbatim discs i.e. from a reputable source e.g. WH Smith seem the best.
If you can use these reliably your media is to blame, if not swap the drive.

No sparky,pc not laptop..the main problem i've had with nero is that it records the picture fine but the sound cuts out after a few minutes?..any ideas?..cheers.

Are you simply burning the wmv file as a data disc or trying to convert to DVD format to play in any DVD player.
If the latter it will probably be the conversion ( Nero Vision Express ?) that is the problem rather than the burning.
I have used Nero Vision Express a couple of times without problems. However I normally author DVD's with a commercial program I have as 6 ish years ago I did not find a decent freeware / Open Source program.
I've not looked if there are any decent ones available now but maybe worth a search.
Otherwise try a separate conversion from wmv to mpeg2 then use this for the DVD authoring.
If you are just burning as a data disc hhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm..............

As I say I normally only use Nero for burning.
On the Nero suite I have that came with my first DVD-RW drive the created DVD menu is crude / amateur looking hence why I bought a commercial program to create a more polished product.
One possibility is a glitch in the wmv file another program will cope with better.
its free & can burn any media onto DVD
Thanks for the link Kim, I'll have a look.
