He was right up Murdoch's bum for as long as he thought he would get something out of it. His wife organised Rebekah Wade's birthday party. None of these people have any morals, it's all about power and money.

Now we know why.....
Rebekah Brooks said to the NOTW staff that they would understand more fully why News Corp had to close down the NOTW in the months to come.
What is staggering is that this appears to have been going on for about 10 years at an intense level amongst a range of Murdoch papers, the Sun, the NOTW and the Sunday Times.
News International has clearly been acting like a Mafia and needs to be crushed.

If the election was akin to a legal process there would be a retrial. Some of the information which influenced public opinion was accessed illegally and we can't have confidence in the first outcome.

This is like one of those classic school bully stories.
The big, bad bully, Rupie Murdoch, beats up and terrorises the schoolboys. All the lads like Tony, Gordon and Dave try to get on well with him by giving Rupie sweeties, so that they wont be on the receiving end .
Then all of a sudden, Rupie does something really, really, really bad and the worms turn. One boy, Nick Davies who never allowed himself to be intimidated, aided by a couple of mates, Chris Bryant and Tom Watson gives Rupie a hammering.
And then lo and behold, all the boys start queueing up to give Rupie a good thumping.
I feel like cheering! Cheerio NOTW, goodbye the Sun, au revoir the Sunday Times.
One can but hope.
