I even give the down and outs a quid or two and even talk to them. Does that make me smug?

I'd prefer to think I am curious as to how they got there and you'd be surprised how chatty and friendly they can be that someone has taken time to talk to them.

Geldorf being a complete and utter gobshyte is the last person I would take any notice of, and Caan being of the same ilk I would ignore as well.
Donations are from ones heart and not by listening to some gobshyte ranting about how he doesn't want to be held responsible.
As for the present disaster in Pakistan I am more than a tad irritated by the lack of effort being put in by their Armed Forces. Where are their choppers flying in donated aid? Pakistan has a huge Army and a lot of it is up on the Punjab border staring beligerently at the Indian Army. For the sake of humanity you'd think that they could put their disagreements on hold and get their boots dirty and help their fellow countrymen and women and children who are dying in the floods. While we're at it how much aid has Saudi or Kuwait or any othe muslim country donated? Probably fuckall.
