The World Cup horns!

Post by max_tranmere »

Don't you just find them annoying? A continous drone throughout every game from the beginning to the end. You can only just about make out the cheering when a goal is scored. I say ban the bloody things!!

All countries have unique chants/songs etc, but you can't hear them. Could hardly hear the sheff wednesday band last night. If you're going to have constant noise then it's way better with chants and the like:

The word you're looking for is vuvuzela.

I was hoping they would drown out Clive Tilsley, but no such luck.

Which is not a bad thing. I am so fed up with The Great Escape...

These are seriously ruining my enjoyment of the tournament. Half of Sert Eeefreeka must be stone deaf. Why can't BBC or ITV filter them out of the sound mix?

"Why can't BBC or ITV filter them out of the sound mix?"

The BBC is wholly committed to reflecting the atmosphere in the stadiums on its main coverage, and providing the viewer with a match experience which is as authentic as possible, but is also looking into providing an alternative feed via the red button. This alternative feed would strip out the majority of crowd noise and would placate those killjoys who don't appreciate the joyful expression of South African culture and those who don't wish to experience the World Cup in an authentic way.

Mass produced plastic shit that dates back about ten years is as culturally relevant as Boyzone are to the British.
