'Oasis' are back...

Post by max_tranmere »

Oasis, minus Noel Gallagher, are back and they are called 'Beady Eye'. I wonder what the band will sound like without the main songwriter and lead guitarist. Are there any Oasis fans on here who are looking forward to Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and a session drummer, releasing an album? I don't think it will be that exciting - rather like The Smiths without Johnny Marr.

Tells you everything you need to know about Liam's curiosity .. there isn't any. Why form a 'new' band with known quantities ?

They had some good singles way back, but the fact they have produced mostly crap for years now does not suggest that without Noel Gallagher they are going to be back with the hits.

Beady Eye? Sounds like the name of a one-off project rather than a full-on reinvention.

I was rather hoping he'd continue with the water theme. Oasis were first known as The Rain.

I had hoped he would go proper solo but he's a frontman so he's gone with what he knows. It probably won't compare to Oasis of old, but looking forward to what Beady Eye come up with. Album and shows around October apparently. Maybe a sneaky late festival appearance somewhere??

Aren`t there other Beatles tribute bands out there without ? They were that great that they couldn`t outsell the fucking spice girls

I think a Noel Gallagher solo album would be a bigger seller than this new project by the other members of what was Oasis.

Always liked Oasis. I was 17 when they first came onto the scene so kinda grown up listening to their stuff. I see Noel, though, as the more talented brother but I hope this new band come up with some good stuff.

We all love music so I don't understand the eagerness by some who're willing them to fail before they've even started.
