I think the ridiculous Play Off scheme is great, personally. As I did last year and the year before etc. etc. And judging from the huge turnouts at those games, I suspect I am not alone.

As I pointed out to the forum's resident financial expert, JamesW the story came from David Conn in the Guardian. Conn is a writer who has specialised in football business stories for a number of years and won journalistic prizes on the back of it. JamesW's argument rests on the fact that Chelsea have denied it. Therefore Chelsea must be right. Not the most compelling of arguments, I have to say. Even if Conn is wrong, it would be interesting to see how Chelsea would survive the absence of Abramovich.
