A new scam to watch out for!

Post by jimslip »

In scam ridden glorious New Labour Britain, where you daren't even sign a mobile contract without a barrister present cos you'll find you've got shafted regardless of how careful you are, here's some warning over a new scam that is spreading.

Check before you take out motor insurance or any other insurance that the bastards don't charge you a ?25 admin charge if you change any details on the policy. I've been cheated twice, once on a bike policy (Devitts)and just now Lara has been cheated on M & S insurance. So ask before you sign up!

Second scam, if you rent a flat. I know a couple of people who thought giving 4 weeks notice means exactly that. But no, not any more, landlord sheisters are now calling 4 weeks from the actual rental date and if you miss that date by 1 day it is then carried forward to the next month. So if you pick the wrong day, it could become 2 months notice instead. So check your lease!

Jim,

The "admin charge" scam is as old as the hills, is a license to print money and comes in all sorts of guises, like banks charging you 25 quid to post off a form letter or for one of their employees to spend 30 seconds at a PC to press a few keys in order to change or enter a few details. Or for a ferry / train / airline company employee to do the same in order to change a booking.

It's all bollocks.

Are you really saying that it's New labours fault that you can't read the small print?

If yes which Government should I blame for the rouge diallers scam I used to get on my pc in the early days of internet porn?

as a landlord ,make sure the deposit is in a protection scheme, its the law now......the tenant will get notification of this and they can ring them up for as much info as they want......plus the deposit is always safe !!...it can't be released unless all parties agree..........

What happens if the tenant skips without paying the rent? Surely the landlord can get his paws on the deposit?

well what do you expect ??........but the landlord can't just nick it !! the protection scheme will investigate first and then make a decision. The landlord doesn't get a say in it !!! And what they say is final........

That's good then. I suggested to my friend who had been forced to in effect give 2 months instead 1 month, to make sure he cancels his last months rent and lets the landlord grab the deposit, which is the same amount.

most landlords are OK with this method,as long as they are told !!!......but the deposit scheme are trying to eleminate this.......if you leave the place "trashed" with no money in hand, the landlord has to pay the repair bill. Then chase you for the money. The deposit scheme is in place so that the rent is paid up fully. Then the property is inspected and if it's OK the whole deposit gets returned.

Why is New labour associated with scam ridden glorious Britain Jim? Personally I dont think Tories were any better in fucking up the country. In fact politics is good like that. No matter whose the boss man in charge they always leave shit for the next person to clean up and never does.

If I didnt know better I would think it was a subtle form of manipulation with intent to influence.

Good job you dont do it in your porn then. You might get boycotted by Labour supporters (and there are quite a few of them)
