Lindsay Honey/aka Ben Dover as he became, worked for me for three years and also we became real friends and I got to know him really well. Here's my little contribution to the the Ben Dover legend. I had a flat in Lancaster Gate, London W2 in 1981 and my flat mate Jon, who was a drummer, heard a request on Capital Radio from a "Glam rock" group called, "La Roxx" or something like that, that was urgently looking for a drummer to go on a tour of Japan in the next couple of days. Anyway, my mate got the gig and went to Japan. In the group was Lyndsey Honey, AKA Ben Dover (now). Anyway from then on, the group used to assemble at my flat to don make up, giant platform heels and skin tight spandex to go partying or playing in London W!. I seem to recall that they used to hang out at a club called the San Morritz in Soho.

I wasn't in porn at the time and worked in the very straight theatre world and I'll always remember Lyndsey walking in to my living room fully glammed up, make up, the whole nine yards, whilst I was playing, "The Winner Takes it All" by Abba, really loud and I thought he'd say something like, "What the fuck is that crap ya wanker?! But instead he announced, "I love that song, it's brilliant!"

At no point did I ever have the impression that the man was, "Gay", just a rather nice bloke having the time of his life!
