Little Britain star's gay ex-lover who died...
I have never watched Little Britain but I am aware of the two lead people. The gay ex-lover of one of them committed suicide this week and it is all over the papers today. This guy apparently spent ?250 a day on cocaine, which is enough for 35 lines of the stuff. I was thinking that if he was awake for 16 hours a day that is over two lines of cocaine per hour. I have never done drugs in my life and I am NOT just saying that. I honestly haven't. If I had I would say so right here. One of the reasons I have not is because I am not a conformist, I have always been an individual. I have never been a sheep who just follows and I have always been happy to stand out from the crowd and be in a minority. It is for that reason that I think most people who do drugs are conformists, who don't have a mind of their own, who follow the crowd, largely out of insecurity, don't really make decisions for themselves, and are too insecure to possibly be viewed as a bit of an outsider from the social group around them. Like the kid at school who thinks he had better start smoking because his mates do and he wants to be seen as one of the gang. Therefore I think cokeheads are weak people, who feel the need to conform and fit in, and who are not individuals with a mind of their own. People's views please.

We're social animals Max. Everybody aopts behaviours and beliefs in order to fit-in and rub along with others.
You say you've never taken drugs and yet in other posts you've talked of frequent visits to the pub in order to imbibe. Is alcohol not a drug ?

If you think taking drugs means you are conforming you are dead wrong, there is a much much higher percentage of people NOT taking drugs than do take them.

Kevin McGee was described by all the papers as a TV producer, and by all the papers as having a massive cocaine habit.
The Mail fleshes the story out a bit more.
"When the couple first met in a nightclub - before Lucas was famous - McGee worked for Carbon Media, a branch of a larger television company called Princess Productions."
"They married in December 2006 in a flamboyant pantomime-themed ceremony at Home House, a private members' club in central London."
"But just 18 months after the ceremony, the relationship broke down when McGee admitted his unreasonable behaviour had caused an irretrievable breakdown in their relationship."
"In what became the first celebrity gay divorce, High Court District Judge Caroline Reid granted a 'quickie' decree in the 75-second long hearing."
"Lucas employed Mishcon de Reya, the same solicitors initially used by Heather Mills in her divorce from Paul McCartney."
"McGee was said to have received about ?1.8million from the settlement"
In other words, McGee worked for a relatively unknown TV production company, and could never have afforded the massive cocaine habit but for the "divorce settlement".
Not only that, if McGee had any lawyer at all, they were not in the class of Mishcon de Reya. So, the ?1.8million can only be testimony to Lucas' love and generosity.
It also suggests that Lucas' wealth at the time was at least twice that.
If memory serves me correctly, Little Britain was a BBC production. So, Lucas' wealth derived in the largest part from BBC talent fees.
Without the distorting effect of Lucas' sudden wealth - thanks to BBC executives spending our money - and the advent of formal gay "marriage", this would almost certainly never have happened.
We now know that with gay marriage comes gay divorce - with its attendant legal involvement and financial settlements.
Had Lucas and McGee not formalised their relationship, McGee would not (I imagine) have felt so ridiculous - being paid a lifetime's earnings for 18 months of state-sanctioned and approved behaviour.
I do feel sympathy for Lucas. It was undoubtedly his idea to back the Civil Partnership idea with a flamboyant "wedding", and it was undoubtedly his idea to "do the decent thing" and pay out half his wealth when it went wrong.
The Mail called McGee "the husband of Matt Lucas". It seems he was more like the wife.

What shocks me more is the landgrab by lawyers. While today's gay lifestyle was in its early stages, straight men were often mugged by lawyers who won fortunes in divorce settlements for wives who were little more than sophisticated whores.
Gays could have dozens of partners and never be called on to support them once the relationship was over. Note that McGee was said to have "admitted" unreasonable behaviour.
Foolishly, militant gay activists sought "equality" in the form of offical status equal to marriage. Now they will find out that the only winners in divorce are lawyers.

Interesting comments there. Someone queried how I can say drug users are comformists and just follow others whilst I myself like a beer in the pub and a ciggy too, and is that not conformity. Achohol and nictoine are drugs too, it was stated. I don't agree with that as firstly I never started doing either of those things because other people did, and secondly I can take or leave them which regular cocaine users can not. This guy who died was apparently doing it every waking hour, so much so that he went into a rehab clinic. That is not the case for someone who just has a beer in the pub, doesn't get particularly drunk, and then might not have another beer for 5 days. Alcohol can be a drug if it is over done, the vast majority of people who drink beer are not alcoholics, but the majority of cocaine users dong it every day and pretty much all day of every day aswell. I think most have a dependency on it, where as most people who like a beer, and have a fag with the beer (that is the only time I smoke) do not have a dependancy on those things. I believe most cokeheads do it to fit in, they will see others doing it and join their little clique. It is obviously a case of following what others do otherwise how could the people know where to buy the stuff from and how to actually take the stuff, how much each time, and so on.
Next point, about how much money the Little Britain guy had, and how he was able to pay off his gay ex partner with apparently ?2m. They have both earned a fortune by the seem of things, the other Little Britain guy owns Noel Gallaghers former home in Belsize Park in north London. People who remember the Britpop scene in the mid-90's and who are familiar with London may recall Noel Gallagher buying this house and calling it Supernovas Heights. The road the house is in is made up of massive properties, and the Little Britain guy bought it for about ?2m (the same figure his comedy partner apparently gave to his ex partner, this guy who recently died, in the break up settlement). So both Little Britain people are rich. The show is apparently big in many countries.
