You have me worried.

I have agreed to go and work in Dundee for 3 weeks during August, this was something I was looking forward to, but not so sure now.
I have a choice of where I can stay for these 3 weeks, first choice was to stay in Dundee - may give that a miss now. The other choices were all on the south side of the Tay and these were; Newport on Tay, Tayport or Kirkton of Balmerino. Can anyone offer any advice?

I spent a weekend there about six weeks ago and I thought it was OK.I stayed in a nice hotel overlooking the Tay.The shopping was good ---- the restaurants less so.
I'll certainly have no hesitation of going again.
I don't know what all these moaners expect to find in any urban area in the UK now.

You're a chav if you have your kids' names tattooed on you. You should be able to remember their fucking names, and the rest of us don't give a toss anyway, so what's the point? Utterly brain dead.

Mr Welkrum. Will your 3 weeks working in Dundee be the 1st time you have ever left home?

Hello to you Lapin Blanc.

Firstly, its Welkram and not Welkrum, these two words have quie different meanings.

Secondly, when I leave the gated estate to work in parts of the country/world I have never been to previously (in this case Dunee) I like to know that I am going to stay somewhere both enjoyable and relaxing, going by the original posting central Dundee does not seem to be that place.

Try Gosport; I was at HMS Sultan recently and apart from some
truly dire boozers the town completely closed at 2000.

Sorry for the mis-spelling of your user name Welkram. I have worked all over the UK, Ireland and parts of Europe. I have visited some great places and made a lot of friends but I have also stayed in some of the worst shitholes ever. I'm not gonna name these places for fear of starting a slanging match with any other poster. Porn Historian said he stopped at a supermarket on his way home from Aberdeen. I'm 90% sure that I can guess which one he stopped at on that road. Chances are it is one of the green and yellow ones. The one that uses Take Thats Shine on they're adverts. If so then I can fully understand what PH was talking about! The staff there are actually more scary and foul mouthed than the customers!
Dundee has a terrible amount of neds, druggies and pregnant teenagers but so do many other towns. If you are looking for somewhere decent to stay in August let me know and I'll point you in the right direction.

Porn Historian? If you are reading this, was right about which supermarket?

I'm off now to pick up my 5 kids from they're 4 different mothers, grab a bottle of Buckie and hang around the shops till my shellsuit is ready from next doors washing machine. !drink!

I use to live in Dundee, the place really IS that bad. Can't say much for the people of Dundee, a large mix of poverty and wealth but mostly giro-bumping bath dodgers and prams... LOTS of prams.

Here's a few fun games to play in Dundee next time.

1. As you approach Dundee - look at the sky, there's almost always a dirty big black cloud hovering over the city. A touch fitting.

2. On the extremely rare occasion that sunshine does break through the crowd and your unfortunate enough to be in town, expect a plethora of scantily clad women with faces wild enough to make your stomach vomit inside your lungs...
