Waldorf was with Martin's girlfriend because of an unfortunate chain of events. Working for Tony Palmer as an editor, Waldorf was told to expect long and late nights, so accomadation near the cutting rooms would be useful. He met the girl in a pub and over conversation he said he was looking locally and, she said her boy friend had a place he didn't need any longer and that he could have it. On the way to look at it plod in all their well informed glory struck.

I have another question, the knowledge base on here never ceases to amaze me, I remember another story from around the late 70's of a Paper boy who was doing his paper round and came upon a house that was being 'turned over' by a bunch of ne'er do wells, and was promptly shot in the face with a sawn off...I recall this was quite big news because he was 12 or 13 years old ?
what was his name ? and the story ? did they ever catch the killer or killers ?

Think you're right steve, suspects became the Bidgewater 4
They served time and then had their sentences overturned
after serving a lot of time in jail. Seem to remember Paul Foot
