Its obscene/ridiculous on many levels.

Just another over indulged non deserving rich person who wants what they want.

He wants to buy the premiership/champions league titles.

Maybe he should ask Obramavich how he thinks he'll get on with that one.

Just cos you put a cherry on top of a dog turd doesn't mean it's the best cake in the shop.

It's not Kaka's fault Ciddy are bidding such an obscene amount of money for him, by all accounts he lives quietly and isn't a bread head. If anything Milan are being offered money they just can't refuse.

I do wonder how much money the Massive Club will have to spend in future though. When Abu Dhabi bought the Bitters oil was $147 a barrel, now it's under $50. Time will tell, and at least City fans are used to disappointment.

"Kaka will pay for himself within 3 years i.e. global shirt sales, city negotiating their own tv rates etc."

In order to negotiate their own TV rates, City would have to leave the Premier League, so I'm not sure who their fixtures would be against.

As for shirt sales, the best selling shirt ever is said to be the Beckham Real Madrid shirt, which Real Madrid claim earnt them double Beckham's transfer fee in 3 years - that would be about ?48m then.

If Man City could match that in Kaka shirt sales, which would be difficult as they don't have the global fan base that Real Madrid have, it would still leave them somewhat short, as the total Kaka deal in terms of transfer fee, salary etc is variously estimated at between ?180m and ?280m.

Perhaps TheHare could comment further on this.

I doubt anyone knows what the proposed Kaka deal is other than ADUG, AC Milan and Kaka's representatives. I doubt most insiders at City would know any of this either. Pure speculation.

not sure what oil prices have to do with it? The club was bought by the personal fortune of the Sheik not his family's business money. From the tone of your post I take it you support Man Utd? A club in debt to some tune to say the least!

Correct. With a personal wealth of ?15 billion, he hardly needs income from oil sales in order to pay Kaka's salary.

and I doubt very much it will be Manchester City somehow seeing as the owner hasn't borrowed huge sums of money from various investors to prop them up. Funny though, this does sound familiar to another club very close to the Manchester city limits boundaries....

Is it a club outside Manchester- in say, Trafford, the next door town?

In debt? Too bloody true. Those slags the Glazers have loaded MUFC with a billion dollars of debt, and I doubt they will be able to refinance these huge debts. I imagine they are on the phone to the Arabs as we speak.

Losing the AIG shirt sponsorship is just the icing on the cake. If the Massive Club offered ?100 million for Ronaldo the Glazers would snap their hand off.
