Why do these X Factor songs all sound like bad impersonations of Mariah Carey? I'd only previously heard one other version of this song - that was by Rufus Wainright, which is ok'ish. I heard the other two chart versions on the radio - the Leonard Cohen version is a terrible dirge and Jeff Buckley's version is sort of limp and only for pre-existing fans.
