I stopped enjoying Christmas when I was about 11/12 years old and stopped celebrating it a few years later... so I've been a "Christmas Free Zone" for about 35 years now.

Hmmm- I find the preparation exhausting and a chore; and the two days themselves one long fest of depression and shouting matches.

I tend to have a weekend away before and a long weekend at New Year to make up for it.

I think it does lose its appeal as you get older but im only 22 and still love it, the one time of year where people tend to get along better or at least from my experience in my work/home life but the downside is thats its months of build up for just one day but then the shops know the game by now!

Can join in with the "Grumpy Old Men"? !laugh!

I have to endure 2 loooong days of putting up with the outlaws (sorry, inlaws). Bored out of me skull.

And why do we HAVE to spend so much? Afterall, Christmas is a Christian religeous festival so, if you don't practice a Christian religeon why bother with it?

Mind you, if Cate Harrington and/or Harmony Hex invited me round to theirs for Christmas that would be a totally different matter altogether !grin! !xmas! !drink! !party!

I work till xmas eve, so the chance to rest watch some good tv, see the kids opening the gifts, eat and drink till I burst, and just rest. Yes I love Christmas.

Christmas works if you have kids- but not if you don't.

I agree with you colonel. I'll be enjoying christmas through the eyes of my little girl and I had the best christmas in years on her first one.

I also agree with the others that it has been over rated and commercialised but now im into the silly season and having fun with it.

Ive never been too grumpy about christmas as Ive always found it a good time socially.
