As i understand it a pimp is someone who lives off the immoral earnings of a prostitute. Where do you draw the line ?

What about the boyfriend of a prostitute who takes a small or large cut of the income ? Or maybe the prostitute just happens to financially suppport the boyfriend as he is out of work. What if the prostitute and boyfriend (or husband) have joint bank accounts.

What about the owner of an escort agency (more often than not a woman) who apparently take a 50% cut of all transactions ?

What about the landlord taking rent from a prostitute who works on his premises ? Is he a pimp ?

I only ask because it will may soon become illegal for a punter to have sex with a prostitute who has a pimp. Apart from the fact that a punter would have no idea if the prostitute a has a pimp it is difficult to make sense of what is and what isnt pimping anyway.
