That's the main reason I've never purchased any porn in the UK, because I saw how cheap it was in Holland and the US. Don't mind paying a fair price, but UK prices are too high - especially when the stuff is censored to get an R18.

That dosnt really stack up does it because R18s are exactly that restricted to people under the age of 18, therefore your local newsagent could be allowed to sell them providing they dont sell to people below that age, the fact that a sex shop is licensed dosnt make them immune to prosecution if they sell a porno to someone who is below 18 so why not let anyone sell them as the the same laws would apply, take sex toys they can be sold anywhere at bootsales or in a market, can you imagine a market trader shouting come and buy your Rampant Rabbit here these are the same ones Donna-Marie uses, well maybe not but its not illegal.

I cant see how you can complain about the price of porn in the UK? 10 years ago you had to pay 60-80 GBP for a movie. Now you can join a website for 30 USD and watch 60 plus movies online. If you buy the DVD all you pay for is packaging and the shop takes most of the profit.

The website is the way to go.

You are quite right Spanner. Its seems the internet is the last refuge for anyone to making any money out of their product.

I'm actually surprised that anyone makes a living out of selling dvds alone in this day and age.

The internet has way lower over heads and seems to be a good indicator of people liking your stuff by them comingon board directly.

I find dvds to much of a headache to deal with and getting money out of the shops who have 30- 60 day credit is a nightmare when you are paying VAT up front.

The adult DVD market is a mess and worse still you have to sell it at a unit cost less than a fiver and risk the shops making more money on exchanges.

Thats the real decline in porn where I'm concerned.
