Indeed. Goodbye Grange Hill.

I had a few friends over the years who were extras on the show. They would just be in the background walking around!

Shame it had to end.

A great shame. For me the greatest kids TV prog of all.Just been watching the DVD of the first series and reminded me how great it was.Great scripts, acting and not afraid to tackle tricky subjects.

Thought you were smart when you took them on,
But you didnt take a peep in their artillery room,
All that rugby puts hairs on your chest,
What chance have you got against a tie and a crest.

Watched the last episode yesterday just because i loved the show back in the early/mid 80s, can understand why they're scrapping though. I thought it was awful and just one question, why when Grange Hill was/is a London school, are all the pupils Mancs, Scousers or a variety of northern kids and not one cockney or southern accent heard? Even Tuckers nephew was a scouser!!! RIP Grange Hill

What happened at the end Hammer ? The unexploded bomb and the old geezer was a perfect opportunity for 'Unlucky Alf' to blow the school sky high. The DJ coulda been dropping some 'depth charges' wearing a 'drop beats not bombs' tshirt, and suddenly ka-boom .. the school detonates.

I didn't see the ending, was totally embarassed to watch all of it to be honest with how much the show had gone downhill. Grange Hill used to be a quality drama dealing with real life issues but it ended up a laughing stock of little sketches and almost cartoon like scenes!!!
