ps3 troubles

any one else with a ps3 had the issue of it not playing discs of any sort all of a sudden,just happened to mine its only 6 weeks old,sony just told me to restore ps3 system so gotta wait 2hrs 29 minutes now to see if it sorts it

I'm on my third in 12 months.Sony are good about returns but clearly PS3 has problems.

after you phoned them how many days was it before you got it fixed replaced mrmcfister

They bring a new* one, and take the old one away in the same delivery. Usually within a couple of days of your call.

*not necassarily brand new, maybe a fixed one. Mine was cosmetically perfect and has worked without problem since.

what software version is yours peter 2.42 the latest update,ive looked on many forums and it seems quite a few people are having this issue,well a few anyway,i updated a few weeks ago and mines been working fine until this morning,it did freeze last night playing guitar hero but then carried on after quitting game and starting again

Can't check the software at the moment, but it wil be the latest, as I'm wireless updating as a when anything is released.

It sounds like your having the sme problems I did, which means the disk drive is knackered, which is a common fault. Get the exchange process in motion.

did you do a full ps3 format when you had the disc problem peter? thats what im trying now got 55mins to go to see if that sorts it

Yep, went through the entire troubleshooting list. Seems to be a common problem, just insist they swap it.

didnt fancy the idea of a second hand one as mine is only a few weeks old and has hardly been used and is immaculate,watched 1 film and played guitar hero about 6 times
