Check the TV listing, but why would you want to give MORE money to Branson and his Ilk?

Jason

Virgin broadband and sometimes the telly is often complete and utter crap.

Believe it or not they are coming to mine on Saturday to fix my Broadband and as you can see there is fuck all wrong with it now!

Sometimes you can get on sometimes you can't.

Last week they told me to buy a new lead for a modem they would send (which they did) but that was also their solution to a problem that simply wasn't the problem.

When I got home from the shop after buying the cable I switched my pc back on to write and send letters instead of the normal emails and the bloody thing was working.

I phoned this afternoon (Wednesday) because it wasn't working again (it was this morning) they said they would be round Saturday and only when I complained did they offer ?10 to compensate for the loss of 21/2 days 'service'.

I wouldn't recommend Virgin shitty media to anyone, they are the most unreliable bunch of tossers I've ever had the misfortune to deal with and the only reason I still have it is because at the mo I can't have Sky.

IF YOU'RE THINKING VIRGIN WANKY MEDIA FOLKS DON'T DO IT!

every company has problems inevitably - but everyone on here seems to slag off internet companies as if they are pure evil.... yet I bet you're all using those very same companies even if it is reluctantly.....

I'd rather give money to Branson, than that Aussie cunt(Murdoch).

Back to topic.

Virgin Media's XL package offers all the multi-channels,ie;Discovery,MTV,VH1,all the kiddie channels(ideal if you have children,or if you have guilty pleasures like watching cartoons)

You have to pay extra though for the Movie,Sport,Asian and porn channels, but you do get Setanta free if you subscribe to the XL package, which is ideal if you are a footy or golf fan.

Hope that has helped you out !thumbsup!

You'd be pleased to know that Setanta is free with Virgin Media's XL package, that includes Celtic TV.I can see you jumping for joy already !grin!

There broadband service varies, but is ok in general.jasonhallceltic wrote:

As I said yes I am.

BUT according to Virgin who are sending someone round to fix mine this Saturday I shouldn't be able to.

They have 2 services vehicles for our entire area.

Of the people I know who have had them all have had problems at one stage or another.

The other thing to remember about Virgin is they are dictated to by other companies.

They just announced another price increase again blaming Sky for sports.

When Sky did the same thing for Sky 1 & Sky News etc Virgin made a big noise about how they would refuse to do it no matter the effect on customers.

It was coincidence, I suppose, that shortly after they launched their own Virgin 1 channel.

Oddly enough then that because its Sky sports and the thing they can't get their grubby little hands on there is no song and dance this time however I suspect its because that if they did pull the same stunt and stop using sky sports they know the majority of subscribers would just say FU.

Something I'll be doing as soon as I get the chance.

Unfortunately Sky and Murdoch have everybody over a barrel when it comes to football - it is either take our service at an overinflated rate or pay over the odds for the remaining scraps that we don't want.

The reason Sky & Virgin had a major falling out re Sky One is because Virgin were advertising "Lost" and Sky One as costing about half the price on Virgin than it was available from on Sky - so Murdoch simply jumped the price up to compensate.

Sky are FUCKING EVIL and all subscribers should be SHOT ON THE SPOT for being so naive .... ok glad that is off my chest I am just off to watch the latest episode of Gladiators that I have Sky+ed lol ...

I have Virgin Media, both TV and Broadband, and have not had a problem, maybe just lucky!
I had more problems when it was NTL.
