Britain in The Olympics (This is more like it)

Post by Ace »

Tom Daley - Diving - Last
Andy Murray - Tennis - Out first round

see, the media build these guys up and when they fall, its a spectacular one. However, I sympathise with Tom Daley, the media spotlight hit him and he didn't look comfortable at all, so hard luck young Tom, wheras Andy Murray? NO excuses considering he won his first ATP Tour Trophy last week to a World Number 3

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

I see Paula's PR company are in full flow as well Ace, playing UP her lack of fitness, spider bite, and general health etc..mind you, she's fit though, so maybe there is a career for her after sport !wink!

Possibly for the best wih regard Mr Daley. All that press attention at a young age isn't healthy. This will give him the chance to learn that it's not all easy, and aim for 2012.

Murray is a Jekyll and Hyde character: you never know which one you'll get.

yeah, loved the 'spider bite' one as well Lizard, I can see her blowing it in that humidity and smog and trailing in 5th, unless she throws a tearful whine and sits on the kerb sobbing her heart out like some junkie streetwalker who's client has short-changed her!
Re: Tom Daley, lets be honest, those 8 year old Chinese kids have it sewn up for years to come, Tom won't get so much as a sniff in 2012

That's his Hyde character. The Incredible Sulk or "I can't play I've got a splinter." Rather glad I missed it.

Well done to the medal-winning swimmers.

I don't know why they have tennis in the Olympics the vast majority of the top players seem to have only a passing interest and are more interested in warming up for the US open in a couple of weeks time.
And this includes Murray who in my opinion has let this country down.

Well done to Rebecca from Mansfield for her swimming gold

I think where a sport already has a holy grail ie football-world cup,tennis-grand slams the Olympics really is something for the second string players to aspire to.

I still shake my head at sports like Handball being an Olympic sport.Kind of game you'd expect to see in the primary school playground but its all about which sport has the biggest base/biggest TV audience thesedays

The admitance of proffessional NBA basketballers in 1992 started this trend
