I was reading in private eye that they have massive settlements with the tabloids, exceeding half a million, It's quite disgusting really, their daughter "going missing" has turned into a nice little earner for them.

Maybe the "canoe" couple who got 6 years in prison yesterday should have tried it.

Kidnap one of their children and send him to Panama, then get a huge settlement from the papers AND write a cash in book.

I thought it was the disgraced policeman originally in charge of the case who is bringing out a book,not the McCanns?

You want to move up north - it's never that warm up here. Today is warmish, but no sun and quite windy. It's not rained since Sunday, so that's unusual! The weather in the north is pretty much shite - I bought a fan about 5 years ago and haven't needed to use it since.
