continueing with my probs, i have attempted another system restore & after the installing & 1st bootup, a message came on screen asking to change the boot sector, i replied "no" to the q but wouldnt accept it & i'm back to square 1, do i have a virus in the bios or boot sector, if so how do i remove it?

I use a product called Ghost when I want to do a system restore (restore from an previously saved image).
As it is booting first time it always asked me if I happy that the boot sector has been changed.
I say yes and it carries on.
So you may not have a virus, it is just your computer or motherboard asking you if you are happy that a major change has been made.
When you get asked again say "Yes"
