Road Taxes - Green Dave Sticks it to Broon

Dave Cameron points out a few home truths to Broon about him being more unpopular than Michael Foot and highlighting the fact that he?ll have to do another U turn on his despised road taxes.

No, it?s just that he's the most credible contender for quite a while to come along and take on (and possibly even vanquish) Broon and his luvvie hordes.

How people rubbed their hands together with glee at the thought of those rotters in big thristy 4x4's getting a big dose of 'envy tax'... unfortunately few enviasged the actual reality of such a system. By regulating on such a nonsensical emmsion as 'Co2' emissions (hardly a problem in the grand scheme of things) what is actually happening will curb the traditional desire to 'trade up' and instead of aspiring to a high-spec sporty model of your chosen motor by weighing up what it will cost to insure you will forever bound to limit yourself to whatever middling 'eco' spec the government dictate you should drive.
For what it's worth they might have well as used a 'desirabilty' chart to decide what band a car fits into. Got a Ghia badge? That will be an extra ?150 annually you flash bastard! ST220? Pay your fine you selfish prats! Does anyone remember the 1970's when Ford introduced poverty-spec Escort, Cortina's & Capri's with 'economy' carburettors? The lean mixture ensured most were thrashed to keep up with normal traffic & the cars ended up being less economical than the standard-spec cars on which they based, this stupid system makes about the same overall sense.

Maybe he is. But if he can remove Broon and Co. from the levers of power, then that's all that really matters to many folks.

Cameron can be as smug as he likes, so long as he's not queering my pitch.

You know, many of these sniffy NuLabour luvvies (including Broon and Darling) don't even drive - and can't understand why anyone else would want to. They haven?t got a clue about cars. They're totally detached from the desires, views, and aspirations of ordinary folks.

What the next government needs to do is appoint Jerry Clarkson as Minister for Transport. This would be hugely popular with all but the sniffy Islington elite and would set Britain on a course of affordable free flowing transport - and consequently, I would imagine, result in a free flowing economy.

...and in a few years the British electorate will find out that Green Dave and his merry band were just as shite as the guys that they replaced. As were the shite that Blair trounced. I've given up hero worshipping politicians in the hope of a better life. Dibble, it's not going to happen you know.

You misinterpret me, blackjaques. I'm not hero-worshipping Green Dave. All I expect from him and the Tories is that they displace ?n? disrupt Broon and his Islington luvvies - because their political correctness and taxes are beginning to get right up my nose.

Who knows what the future holds? Green Dave might prove to be no better than Broon - though I'm certain the political emphasis would be a little more to my liking. On the other hand, he could prove to be the best thing since sliced bread. We won't know till we give him a go.

So rather than be elected on the strength of his vision and the coherence and value of his party's policies you're proposing that he be elected merely because he might be better than what we have ? Where is Dave's vision ?

I don't deny Labour are rotten but you're proposing replacing them with something that appears vital and just hoping they'll be effective. They won't be effective without ideas and thus far they've been pretty unforthcoming about telling us what they are, perhaps for fear that they'll look very similar to the Labour party's.

All Cameron's positive press and the doing-down of Brown is marketing messages but ask yourself is there any substance to him? Forget about him seeming 'genuine' ... has he got a vision and some workable ideas ?
