Quote from the BBC News Website
"The suspect, described as a male youth, made off from the scene up Burnt Ash Hill towards Burnt Ash Lane."
That's a very vague description.
Why so vague do you think?

Yes, it's struck many others as being odd, too - not least since there was no shortage of witnesses. So let's speculate. I reckon it's because the suspect was a little old lady from rural Cambria and media luvvies and their law enforcement counterparts don't want you to think that little old ladies are particularly prone to acts of mindless sociopathic violence - particularly as we are now seeing similarly horrific cases coming to national attention on an almost daily basis. I mean, ordinary 'ignorant' people can't be trusted, can they? They might see a 2 and then another 2, and misguidedly surmise that they made 4.

Re: Youth Killed in Bakery Row
What do you mean by 'vague description', spider?
It's actually ironic that you're being vague in addressing their supposed vagueness!
They've said he's a male youth and told us the direction he ran off in. If they don't know any more than that, they're not purposely being vague. What do you want, his starsign?

Re: Youth Killed in Bakery Row
Maybe it isn't clear. A lighter skinned black guy, or mixed race (black/white) guy can be mistaken for an Indian/Asian/Arab quiet easily.
If it's not definite then it's not helpful to guess as to the race of the culprit as the media report -if inaccurate- would infact help the culprit from being detected. (for instance: the media say he was black, but in reality he was a dark-skinned Indian...or Moroccan.... the culprit would be laughing)
Could you determine the difference between a 'white' Brit and a 'white' Croat/Pole in the middle of a 15 second, panic-stricken scuffle?
