What has the individual done or achieved to warrant this amount of media coverage?

I was under the impression that judging by the sheer amount of publicity surrounding this individual that this individual had; (a), found a cure for cancer, (b), prevented all wars and conflicts from taking place again, (c), has personally discovered how to remove poverty, death and pestilence from mankind. However, I was mistaken.
