C4 prog press reactions

Post by David J »

I dropped in at my local library and looked through today's national papers for any reactions to the 'Hardcore' prog.

Result: very little. There were TV reviews in the Times and the Daily Mail, both of them along predictable 'ooh how nasty' lines, but also both picked up the fact that 'Felicity' had psychological problems of her own. The DM piece ended: 'happily, Felicity gave up her new career. Thanks, in part, to Walker and his crew'. According to some posts in this board, there might be some doubt about whether she HAS given it up.

Apart from the TV reviews, no reaction that I could see.

It would be worth keeping an eye on the letters pages of the broadsheets over the next few days, and columns by 'opinion' journos, to see whether there is any aftershock.

I think there were some suggestions that Layla-Jade might write to the press to point out that the prog gave a misleading impression of the adult industry. She is very well-placed to do this, but unless there is further anti-porn agitation, it might be best to let it blow over.

Why not get someone to go for the "Right To Reply" slot on Saturday evening?
