Arsenal will pay Fabregas what he wants,as the last thing they want is to alienate their fans. But i do agree that it's scandalous that a club like Arsenal, built on English tradition and history don't have a single English player apart from Walcott and Hoyte. If Platini's idea goes ahead it will badly affect Arsenal as their youth academy is mostly foreginers as well.

Chelsea and Man U's youth academy is 80% English/British based

Chelsea's youth team are also going strong in the FA Youth Cup,which is a vital step in youth development.

Wenger will realise soon or later how important it is to have English players.

"Wenger will realise soon or later how important it is to have English players."

Do you recall it was revealed a year or two back that Wenger owns a stake in a scouting operation in Africa? It helps explain why the Arse gets a lot of good African players, and also why he is not so keen on English players, as he doesn't get any commission on them. I know he looks like a dessicated accountant, but I bet he could teach Happy Harry a thing or two on the quiet.

Why is it so important to have British players? They act like cunts when they are supposed to representing their nation.

And especially paying the Brits ridiculous transfer fees. I think I am right that Wenger paid around thirty million for his whole team as opposed to others that have spent hundred of millions.
Perhaps British players should pull their socks up and instead of spending their time in night clubs learn their trade.

I agree 80k a week is too much for any player, but we do have a small wages bill compared to the rest of the top five.

5-1 is better

Post by chatterji »

When we, the chosen ones of Tottenham Hotspur, spanked the Goons we got a fist fight out of them too. What annoys me is that somehow Wenger still managed to pretend it didn't matter and that they fielded a second team (I think there were 8 first team regulars on by the end).

It's hilarious that Arsenal, like Wenger, have no idea how to condiuct themselves when they lose. I look forward to yet another choke on the European stage being shrugged away by the manager. The best tactician in the league, but no class at all...but then have any of them?

Of course we are going to choke it's fucking Arsenal what else do you expect?

I for one will not defend Wenger for some of his strange ways. Some games I just want to punch his face for looking so fucking miserable.

And I believe we do need some big game players, wouldn't mind nicking Stevie Gerrard.

And now my little gloat five points clear at the top of the league. la la la la la la up your bums.

I am as disgruntled about the state of our National Team as you are mate but the reason why it IS important to have English/home grown players in one's team is because of the development of our National Team.

Why are the Italians so successful?
A:Because they have always built their team on youth, discipline and keeping their players inside their own country.

If that was'nt the case, the likes of Buffon,Maldini,Nesta,Baggio etc would of moved to England or Spain ages ago.

This UEFA ruling is being challenged atm by Arsenal and Real Madrid.Teams made up of mostly foreginers.Madrid would be affected more as they really don't build on youth. They'd rather nurture their youth then sell them on to other Spanish/European clubs to make huge profit.

i personaly support this idea, and i'm not saying this because Chelsea have more than 4 English players in their squad.Marino wrote:

He's got a point though, Arsenal do seem to always kick off when they're losing.

Chelsea in last seasons final, West Ham, Spurs, Man Utd (more than once). All games they lost and ended up doing something daft.

A pity really because they're a talented side.

Can't believe Gallas got away with that kick in front of the whole country, but the FA failed to see any violence in it.

I used to spend a lot of time criticizing Islam on here in the noughties - but things are much better now.

I agree Sam.If it was a Chelsea player that done that kick the media would be calling that player to the gallows !whistle!.

I know that Arsenal are sore losers,so are Chelsea and Man U, but shit happens.

My gripe is that Spurs fan who won't shut up about beating Arsenal 5-1.
It'll count for nothing WHEN they lose to Chelsea on Sunday. !blues!
