By the way.

Do any of you realise that if a Polish person comes to work here in the UK, and they have a wife and children back in Poland, they can claim CHILD BENEFIT for those children !

Thats right, your UK tax is being used to pay child benefit to children living in Poland.

What a stupid situation.

Another example of why being part of the EU is so ridiculous.

And of course SOME Poles get the benefit twice, once over here, and once over there:

Still I am sure none of you mind paying tax to support children in Poland.

Yes some will take advantage of soft policies that scream to be abused
but only because their too stupid to see what a little bit of dedication & hard work can achieve

We've got a good one in OZ that says to claim unemployed benefits you need only apply for 10 jobs a fortnight.Blind freddy could do that in an afternoon.Of course its not hard to turn the potential employer off by sabotaging the interview...tell em everything they don't want to hear

In OZ we recently(July 1st) said anyone on benefits for incapacity/single parents had to start looking for work................only 12-15 hours a week

Thing is wazza, although immigrants ARE beneficial in some areas where there are plenty of jobs to be had, in other areas they DO place a strain on services etc. etc. and claim benefits.

This is something all the political parties recognise and agree on - even your beloved New Labour (although granted they're always careful to couch their reservations in nice language and try to put a positive spin on the situation so as not to "offend" anyone).

Having reservations about immigration has nothing to do with supporting the BNP (indeed that's a cheap-shot tactic that you and others of like mind often employ to try and stifle debate on the subject by trying to "shame" people into not disagreeing with you).

Indeed - you seem to be the only one here who thinks that an uncontrolled immigration free-for-all is actually a **good** thing and that tolerating anything less is "racist". You constantly harp on about "oh, the labour market will sort it out, no need to worry", but everyone knows that's utter bollocks - even your beloved Gordon Browne.

Yes - controlled immigration to tackle emplyoment shortages (be they skilled or unskilled) is GOOD. The people coming over get jobs, pay their taxes and knucke down. No problem.

But just having an "open-door" policy for any FOREIGN "sofa-dwelling fuckwit" (to borrow your own turn of phrase) who wants to come over, claim state benefits and / or commit crime is BAD BAD BAD. And that latter scenario seems to be the situation the UK's in right now - the government hasn't got a fucking clue how many people it's letting in.

Yes the companies say they cant get anyone to do the job for the wages they pay and to a point their being honest but if you realised how little they pay in the first place it isnt surprising.

If a decent wage was paid then they would get people but its cheap labour they want to keep their profits high and the true burden are then passed on to everyone to deal with.

People who dont have to worry about having their jobs being placed under threat by cheap labour or being forced out of where they live by rising rent prices because they do not have to live in those nasty cheap areas of towns or do those jobs which unskilled migrants do/go can afford to tar anyone who speaks out with the racist label and take the "moral highground"
