Now thats smart thinking

Given its vintage nature & Quentins favourite porno
(hot summer in the city 1976) being here

why not upload the chick flick as well
so you to can say..."I'm a fucking hero, good on me"

Thanks Deuce. I'm sold on seeing it and making up my own mind. I have seen plenty of dross this year already and given up buying dvds. The only good films I bought this year are:

Letters From Iwo Jima
Perfume
and Black Snake Moan

Oh and Alpha Dog though I'm sure plenty of you folks here will hate it for Justin Timberlake alone LOL

Shoot Em Up was a good wheeze. over the top, stupid and not pretending to be otherwise.

I saw "letters from Iwo Jima" as well, Tel, not a bad film; funnily enough I thought that the French war drama "Days of glory"was better, even though it got slagged off by some people.

In fairness Deuce, that review is for Grindhouse, not the extended Death Proof that is soon to be released over here and already out on Region 1 DVD.

I'm all in favour of him deviating from previous efforts, no one wants to see the same film again and again (take note Hollywood execs), by all means he can deviate, as long as it's good. I just don't think this was good.

I'd also like to see him making more movies. For someone who dreamed of making them in the video store like he did, his output is very slow. And he ain't getting any younger, I'd like to see him make some mature films.

Agree with you, nasty. QT and RR were filmmakers who seemed to genuinely love movies and wanted to make movies. But while RR has continued to pursue this - as long as he can make a Sin City, I can overlook a Sharkboy and Lava Girl - QT has decided every film he makes is a huge event and his fanboys daren't say a word.

Grindhouse was a great idea and the fake trailers were great but Planet Terror was a by-the-numbers zombie flick and Death Proof... well Mark Kermode didn't let me down. And this venture cost Harvey Weinstein $50m.

QT should've made this for $1m and released it straight-to-DVD.

Super Randy, smacks himself on the forehead) 300! Yes of course and 28 months later was good too.

Personally I think a lot more tv shows are better than feature films these days. Rome rocked like thunder. Great script, great acting, punani and nuff violence.
