Culturally they were the right band at the right time, with the right songs and the right attitude. It was over when Noel shared drinkies with Tone, but they'd already made their mark by then. Musically they're hardly innovative, but I always liked their magpie sensibility, an equivalent to sampling perhaps. After all, it's only rock and rock.

You'd heard it all before, of course, but had you heard it like this? They weren't trying to re-invent the wheel, and made an interesting point about the weight of the past on any new band's shoulders, a weight that those sacred bands of the past maybe didn't have. Why not use it to your advantage?

And they still give the best interviews bar none.

The Smiths - b sides collected on 'Hatful Of Hollow' and 'The World Won't Listen'. Lest we forget 'How Soon Is Now' was originally a bside.

see what i mean you either love them or hate them!!

You really dont like them do you rasputin!!

Does liam owe you a tenner or something???

As said so many times already name me a band of the last15 years thats come even close to having the success oasis have had??

Noel makes no bones about the fact that much of there staff is styled around the likes of beatles and quo, but its still been so far ahead of the competition its actually been pulled off pretty well!!

playing 4 gigs at wembley next summer and dare i suggest they`ll sell out all 4 dates!!!
