So exactly who is in favour of this if this is popular among the British public may I ask....I doubt its going to make a blind bit of difference here among you good folk.

Utter waste of time, as far as 'young people' go. Their favourite method of obtaining porn is p to p file sharing. My nephews have a 500gig drive filled with the stuff.....mind they are 18 and 20, I doubt they would ever 'buy' or pay to download anything..and their not even short of money..

Correct it won't make a blind bit of difference to us folk here however us folk here, although part of it, aren't a true representation of the British public when it comes to opinions on porn.
It would have been great to see what the BBFC are now trying to impose being done at the suggestion of the industry.
We all know that most of the opinions of porn are bollocks and this like many other things won't stop what 'they' want to stop but if the industry for want of a better phrase cleaned up its act and came more in tune with what those feel are needed it could actually help it develop.
I'll get flamed but looking back at before R18 and what gets R18 now suggests to me that if the industry worked with its opponents it could eventually become more acceptable in all areas especially late night encrypted TV.

Re: British Websites face R18 classification
BBFC recognise that hardcore porn is legal and have now decided to have online classification. It won't make any difference but it does go to show what a bunch of pricks Ofcon are - it's the final nail in the coffin for UK Broadcasters.

I would relocate abroad and run my website from there.

It won't make a blind bit of difference to us here. All that so-called "public consultation" about porn is and was a load of old bollocks!! The hypocrites who run this country are secretly opposed to porn! They go through a facade of holding "public consultation's" but we know that they will only arrive at their decision. Of course when these government officials get home they're straight on to the net wanking furiously over spanking, cp and bdsm pictures!!!

Re: British Websites face R18 classification
.......................so does this mean that the BBFC are going to charge on average about a grand per film for this "online classification"?
Re: British Websites face R18 classification
Interesting point about Government. Who created R18 and why was it done?

I've heard that it's actually included with getting the R18 certificate for a dvd release.
It's just the bbfc trying to stay relevent. How they plan to police the internet, I don't know...
