I was joking." she said this to a black girl and an indian girl did she not know she was going to cause offence? oh just realised this is the posh girl who said she was going to vote conservative at the next election...

Well, she was very careless. Doesn't make her a racist. She sounded like she wanted to be funny, and it backfired.

I remember hearing about someone putting dead skin in someone's food one year (the skin was from his foot that had a fungal infection I think). Also, one year someone poured freshly cooked pasta -with sauce- over someone's head in an argument. Surely purposely spiking food with a fungal infection, along with scolding of someone's face is worse?

I can just about tell you for certain that if a black girl had said, 'Are you pushing it out honky?', towards a white girl, or say an Aussie in the house asking, 'Are you pushing it out pomme?' to an English girl, what does anyone actually think would be the outcome, if any at all?

Ch4 didn't have to air it, and if it wasn't meant as a derogatory insult at the time, a warning would have been the best option.

'Nigger' is a racial slur.
'Honky' is a racial slur.
'Pom' is a nationalistic slur.

Why is there a difference, if the receiver of that slur is upset, or offended?

I'm not defending the slur used by the girl, nor the punishment dealt; only the hypocrisy.

BB either ban derogatory slurs, punishable by eviction, or they give warnings first, regardless of the word used.

At the moment we have a 'you cannot slur me, but I can slur you' situation.
