"To be honest I was quite chuffed that the odious piece of shit that is Peter Tatchell got hit. He's the worst kind of person I can think of- the kind that is arrogant enough to believe that anyone who doesn't think the same as him doesn't just have a differing opinion, they're wrong. And do any of you remember that he used to front a group called OutRage whose sole purpose was to 'out' famous people who are gay? What fucking business is it of his or anybody else's what sexuality another person might be and how they choose to express it? Fuck him- got what he's been deserving for a long time if you ask me."

Quite the most sensible post so far, Tatchell's see's it as his mission to convert everybody to his way of thinking, I have not seen him in Saudi Arabia promoting gay rights, or Afghanistan, as he would loose his cock in the process, Outrage was a disgusting organisation, with no morals or respect for anyones privacy.
It,s only a matter of time before someone top's him, he's not brave at all. he's a moron.

"Somebody protect me, somebody protect me!"

How about starting to protect yourself before asking for help? Tosser!

The man's done a lot for pushing Gay rights into everyone's conciousness, but he's also 'outed' people without their permission, which is an invasion of privacy, and generally impolite.

The guy's purely all for himself, and he's interfered in others sexual lives for his own political agenda. Once he gets into a hole, others are expected to 'protect' him.

He never cared for other peoples feelings, or mental health, when he outed them in public, but expects people to care enough for him. What got me most is that he didn't ask, but demanded protection.

Well, seeing as the people who think different to Tatchell are the ones who are full of violence and homophobia, then I think he's fairly justified in saying they are 'wrong'.

Not strictly true. They outed people who were gay and hypocritical, that is, gay in secret and then publicly anti-gay. Like MP's and so on.

I do think there is hypocrisy in some instances though Warren.

My opinion:

Two black friends calling eachother 'nigger' is the same as two fat/gay/ugly/lazy/ginger people calling eachother various names. It's banter between friends, and it's the 'intention' of the name-caller that's more important than the actual word used.

The hypocrisy arises when we have 2 friends. One is black, the other white. They're walking to the pub when a strange black man asks the black friend for a light. "Have you a light my nigger?" Generally I find that the black friend would rather a stranger call him a nigger, than his white friend (as long as the stranger is black skinned).

So we have a situation where the intent isn't important, but the colour of skin, when it comes to the usage of 'nigger'.

Of course, I have black/asian friends where we call eachother names all the time. We've grown up knowing eachother since we were about seven so we're more comfortable in eachothers company, but in other friendships I do see hypocrisy.

Note: Yes, I know I'm now arguing against my own post on this matter, but I like to question my own beliefs when I can; which may surprise some who consider me an arrogant, honky-skinned, northern monkey! !laugh!

According to my friends their attackers were in denial about their homosexuality. The story is that after an evening at a gay pub they were set upon by a group of men who had spent all evening in that pub. Later after asking a series of questions (they didn't feel like reporting it to the Police) they found out that the perpetrators were always visiting this gay pub looking for "contacts".
