Spare a thought for super Kevin Phillips if he signed for Sunderland in August when he had the chance he would be in the Premiership next season.
Well never mind, Kev there's always next season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got back from Wembley about an hour ago !sad!
Fair play to Derby they took their one real chance in front of goal.
I fear they will do a Watford though next season if they don't change their style of play, you can get away with it in the championship but not the premier league.

One could argue that he is more likely to prolong his career, and play regular football, by staying in the Championship with WBA that being in the Premiership with Sunderland.
I doubt he would be a first choice striker with Sunderland in the Premiership so he would have a season of mostly sitting on the bench.
Also we have to take personal factors in to account. When he left Villa he wanted to stay in the Midlands for family reasons (kids at school?) so that suits him fine.
Lets face it, at his age Sunderland may have even relased him this season, so he would be on the move again.

Exactly my sentiment.
Not for sentimental reasons, but because I put a bet on them to go through. I didn't think they were the better side, but I did think that this affair was a coin toss, and the odds on offer for Derby were favourable for a toin coss.

Chelsea = FA Cup
Milan = Champions League
Derby = Play Off Winners
Just proves that the best teams don't always win cup competitions. It's putting the ball in the net that counts, and the 3 teams above did just that.
I tipped Chelsea & Derby, but also tipped Liverpool.
2 outa 3 aint bad.....
