Can anyone recommend a pretty good quality DVD-R branded (not printable) and single layer 4.7 gb disc and 8x would be fine due to my DVD writer and post some links to sites in either the UK or Europe where they've bought them from?
I don't need a massive amount as a tub of 50 should last me 12-18 months.
I used to use the RiDisc Xtreme Red AAA+ and they were the best I have used but they seem to be out of stock in all the online stores that I've checked.
I'm not looking for the cheapest but something that will work and not have errors on them.
Thanks in advance guys.

Re: Blank DVD-R
Difficult to by anything other than 16x now.
Also the quest for speed seems to be reducing reliability.
With the writer drive, disc and computer pushed to the limits difficult to certain if the discs really are less reliable.
My pc is only P4 2.0 GHz with Pioneer DVR111 writer and two 7200rpm 8MB cache hard drives so any video is on a different drive to Windows and applications. Normally I only burn at 4x. If I try 8x it can only just keep up and sometimes falls back.
Look here for reviews based on experience
I found 8x Sony 100% reliable but glad I read reviews before parting with cash for 16x. Also found any disc with MCC 02RG20 100% reliable too.
I have just bought 50 Verbatim 16x that are MCC 03RG20 but not tried any yet. ?17.99 for 50 in WHSmith but just ?9.99 at my local computer component distributor.

Yeah, I've used Verbatim Discs with no troubles.
Also, I get my Disks from Maplins, I wait for the offers, then buy the 100 Disk Spindle/Cakes for ?19.99. Last time I bought some, they had a real good deal, I bought 200 for the price of 100.
