Burning dual-layer DVDs

Post by mart »

Anyone got any tips?
I've tried it using both Ashampoo and Nero, failure every time.
I wasn't copying a DVD, just trying to burn from files on my laptop.

Thanks for the tips.
Yes, it is a dual-layer burner, I checked that....lol
I"m trying the burning on an Imation +R but I don't fancy having to try other brands to achieve success...that could be expensive.
I can't see the DVD5/9 choice you refer to, I'm using Nero 6 Ultra edition.
The error messages I get are
Power calibration error
Burn process failed at 2.4x.

thats a disc issue, i use verbatim dual layer discs, a little more expensive i know, use dvd decrypter and have never ever had one bum out on me.i'm almost sure that power calibration error is a disc compatibility issue

Success, I managed to locate Verbatim DVD+R DL on special offer (NZ$5/approx GBP2.00) and the burn went without a hitch. I'll buy some more while the offer lasts.
Thanks again guys.
