Re: Ben Dover, multi-millionaire.
You make some good points about the Beckhams. If you think, that I think anyone should be paid ?70,000 a day to play football then you're wrong. However I could not say they don't 'deserve' any money they earn. They may love the limelight, but doesn't Ben Dover in the same way? It's not Beckhams fault that he's more photogenic and famous the Ben is it? We can all desire fame or perform for the public but like you said - the public decides who they want to see, not the Beckhams.
I have no problem with the girls being well paid but would say again that market value would come into it- obviously an established star is going to be able to command more than a newcomer for a scene because they have sold more DVD'S
You'd think so wouldn't you? In the UK it's not that way really. I'd say the new girls -if they can't be lied to or misdirected- can demand more money because there's a premium on new girls. Everybody wants to see them because they're fresh meat, so a decent new girl could theoretically get paid more than Angel Long. In the States where time is money, they usually shoot 3-6 scenes a day. Performers who learn lines quicker, who are reliable, and whizz through the scenes in a professional manner demand higher prices. The more scenes directors can do at a particular location means less location costs and less pay for still photographers, make-up artists and personal assistants. In that the industry is different between the two countries. UK directors very rarely shoot more than 2 scenes in a day so they can spend a lot longer time on a new girl who has to be directed in everything, or keep stopping because her ass hurts etc, without wasting money.
What's funny is when directors & producers complain about unreliable girls. If they just paid the more professional and reliable girls more money than the unreliable ones then the others would maybe book their ideas up. Surely paying an extra ?100 a scene will mean less lost studio/location time if they only rebook girls they know will turn up? They won't though, they'll keep paying shit money and risk booking unreliable models and risk losing money in hiring locations for nothing on occasion. In the valley it's the opposite that's more usual.
Porn is by it's very nature going to be a risky business but I still stand by my belief that is a lot safer than going to a club getting lashed and sleeping with somebody you do not know which happens all over this nation every week
Not really. Picking a girl up from a club isn't as risky really. Not in the UK anyway. This is because performers -though they get tested- travel to shoots throughout Europe and so their 'sex pool' is much larger. We also have the performers that escort and men who pay for escorts are more likely to pay prostitutes also. Prostitutes are more likely to pick up STD's due to the nature of their job and punters. I'd say 90% of STD's in the industry are brought in by girls who escort through their punters whom also use prostitutes on occasion. Your average girl at a club is less likely to pick up a guy that uses prostitutes, so you're less likely to pick up anything from a girl in a club, who probably has a regular job, and just happens to be between regular boyfriends on the night you met her.
The first question they ask you at a GUM clinic is do you work as an escort/prostitute or have you used escorts/prostitutes in the past. This isn't for nothing, it's because that's where the major majority of STD's come from. The second having sex abroad. (Amstardam/Prague & prostitutes anyone?)
if a director hassles a girl for sex then just like any other employer he would be liable to being charged
I'd like to see a pornstar -who'd just had sex all day- convince a jury that she was harassed for sex by the director (remember sometimes the director is also the stud!)
she gives him a gobble or whatever and then he has got want he wants and would probably never use her again anyway
I know one company that actively only use performers who do perform 'extras' after scenes. Of course bgafd wouldn't like me mentioning them or the guy, so I won't.

Re: Ben Dover, multi-millionaire.
I apologise in advance, I just had to comment.
There is a VAST difference between what footballers are paid and what they earn, a factor of 1,000 by my reckoning.
Footballers do a job that isn't particularly dangerous, requires no qualifications and carries no financial risks whatsoever.
Ben Dover, for example, had to put his own hard earned cash on the line. He had to buy the equipment, find the girls, find somewhere to film, make the film, edit the film, package and sell it. Even after all that, there's the chance that he won't make his money back.
In my mind there's no comparison between someone who risked their own money for a chance to make a lot more, and someone who has had everything handed to them on a plate.

Totally agree. And dont forget Ben Dover and Linzi, risked, and suffered, the dawn knock on the door by the old bill, not something footballers can usually expect in the normal run of things.
By the way, with the governments intended crack down on what it considers extreme porn, there's going to be a lot more dawn visits soon.
